Williams Group offers an internship for college students interested in doing marketing communications work for philanthropic organizations. Based on our commitment to increasing the diversity of the communications field, we encourage students of color in their junior or senior year pursuing one of two career paths:

1) professional communications discipline. Interested in exploring the application of this discipline within the nonprofit field, these students might
be focusing in a communication craft such as writing or graphic design, a technical arena such as market research or program management, or a media area such as print, broadcast, video or electronic communications.

2) a career in the nonprofit field. Interested in learning about the practice of communications as an asset to their work in this field, these students might be focusing on nonprofit management, sociology or other curricula preparing them for leadership work in this field.

Consideration will also be given to immediate post-graduate students and to students pursuing post-graduate degrees in the above categories.

Please submit resume and cover letter to jdeyoung@wgsite.com.

Briana Trudell, Wg current intern

Patricia Sáenz, Wg 2009 intern

Maxine Gray, Wg 2008 intern:
Williams Group provides an excellent opportunity to learn from some of the best and brightest in the communications field, in a highly collaborative, creative and strategic environment. Throughout my time as an intern, I was invited into projects that gave me the opportunity to work closely with project managers, designers and writers. Each discipline has a role to play in facilitating the project process, from creative concept to successful implementation. One of the aspects I valued most during my internship at Williams Group was exposure to the diverse client base, which includes corporations, nonprofit organizations and foundations. The resulting mix
of client needs helped ensure that the work was always challenging and interesting—and that our expertise was equally fresh and relevant. Upon completion of my master’s degree, I was hired as a full-time project coordinator in May 2009. I’m excited to be a full-fledged member of a
team so defined by its energy, creativity and intelligence.

Nayana Sen, Wg 2006 intern:
At Williams Group, I was exposed to a warm, supportive and collaborative environment. I was encouraged to conceptualize, create and self-direct my own projects, as well as customize a learning experience to closely meet
my interests and needs. During my two months, Wg associates integrated me in all parts of the communications design process. I worked alongside project managers, account executives, writers and graphic designers.
I also conducted interviews and needs-gap assessments, and created a business blog for Wg. My time at Wg has proved to be an immensely rewarding experience.

Mike Rios
, Wg 2004 intern:
Williams Group afforded an environment in which my skills were developed and my interests were valued. For five months, I wrote, participated in planning sessions, provided tactical coordination and weighed in on concept design. Upon graduating, I quickly found a job and continue to feel confident in my ability as a result of time spent at Williams Group.
